Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 14 and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM following the Rosary at Holy Family Catholic Church in Roy, New Mexico. Fr. Glenn Jones, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Carrizo Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Agatha Martinez was born on March 29, 1925, in Wagon Mound, New Mexico to Albino Ulibarri and Gregorita "Georgie" (Esquivel) Ulibarri. She was raised by an Aunt; Matilda Roy, after her mother died when she was two years old. Agatha married Epimenio Martinez, Sr. in Roy, New Mexico in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1989. They raised seven children together on their ranch near Carrizo, New Mexico. In 1975 Agatha started working as a Cook for the Roy School cafeteria. Later, Agatha and Epimenio owned and operated the Café in Roy, New Mexico for a few years. Agatha was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Roy, New Mexico. In addition to her parents and husband, Agatha was preceded in death by 1 son; Richard Paul Martinez, 1 sister; Martha Naranjo and by her aunt that raised her; Matilda Roy.
SURVIVORS:
3 DAUGHTERS: Patricia Phroper and her husband Tom of Yoder, Kansas, Elizabeth Martinez of Balko, Oklahoma and Evangeline Garrison and her husband Justin of Geronimo, Oklahoma.
3 SONS: Epi Martinez, Jr. and Charles Martinez and his wife Dolores all of Roy, New Mexico and Manuel Martinez of Azle, Texas.
