Charles J Gessner, 81, of West Mifflin died today in St. Francis Medical Center, Pittsburgh. Retired from the Irvin plant, U.S. Steel Corp., he was a member of St. Joseph Church in Duquesne and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Born in Duquesne, May 25, 1910, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Cecelia Kroeger Gessner. Surviving are his wife, Minerva Sullivan Gessner; sons, Charles N. at home and Kenneth Paul of West Mifflin; and sister Ann Palmquist of Philadelphia.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Inc., Duquesne, where a blessing will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Robert G. Turner. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
