Fayette Lee Jones was born May 20, 1869 at Waseca, Minnesota, where he lived until 1890. Moving to Washington, he farmed and operated as a bridge contractor at Sedro Wooley until 1918, when he moved to Oregon. In the fall of 1916 he came to Hinsdale, homesteading thirty miles northeast. Ten years ago he moved to a ranch farther north.

Mr. Jones died early in the morning of May 27 as the result of internal injuries received when he fell or was thrown from his horse two weeks earlier. Found lying on the ground near his home forty miles north of Hinsdale, he was brought here for medical attention and was thought to be recovering nicely until shortly before his death.

He is survived by his widow and three children, Mrs. Fay McKnight, Jean and Lee; three children by a former marriage, Leslie of French Creek, Idaho; and Marie and Ralph, both of Seattle, Washington; two brothers; Frank and Roy Jones, both of Hinsdale; a sister, Mrs. Alice Ballard of Seattle; a half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Brossard of McGrath, Minnesota; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 3, 1938 at the Hinsdale Methodist Church, with the Reverend Will LeDrew Bennett of Glasgow officiating.
