AFTON Jerry Donald Dameron, 61, of Afton, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on May 16, 1950, in Nelson County, son of the late Merit Clifton and Estelle Gray Dameron. Jerry is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Dameron; two sons, Richard Donald Dameron of the home and Robert Clifton Dameron of Afton; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Dameron and Nicholas Coleman; two brothers, Paul Dameron of Fredericksburg and Robert "Bobby" Dameron of Afton; two sisters, Mabel Delores Lawhorne of Waynesboro and Judy Mae Fitzgerald of Hermitage; and a number of nieces and nephews. Following cremation, a service will be held at a later date. Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro has been entrusted with the arrangements.
