Mrs. Emma Miller Dobbin, of Lenoir, Route 5, wife of Reverend Hugh A. Dobbin and president of the Happy Valley Club for over 20 years, died in a Lenoir Hospital Thursday afternoon, less than a month short of her 90th birthday.
The deceased was born in Watauga county April 22, 1869, daughter of the late Jonathon and Nancy Blackburn Miller. She was educated at Cove Creek High School and was a member of the Episcopal church.
Funeral rites for Mrs. Dobbin were held at the chapel of Patter son School for Boys, Happy Valley, at 1 p.m. Saturay with the Reverend Floyd Finch, Jr., rector at St. James Episcopal Church , Lenoir, in charge.
Burial was at Todd.
She is survived by her husband, the Reverend Hugh A. Dobbin, one daughter, two sons, a sister and two brothers.
