Edward Klumb graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Dentistry in Chicago in 1908 and practiced in Chicago. In 1908 he was living at 2451 N Maplewood, a historic 4br 2 ba brick cottage built in 1906 which still stands today.He married Sophia Kvist on 8/14/1918 in Chicago. His office at that time was located at 3581 Fullerton Avenue. In 9/1918, they were living at 841 W Daken Street. They later divorced . Sophia was born 3/21/1888 in Finland arriving in America in August,1910. She was a dressmaker and died 11/1970 in Cook County, Il.
Edward possibly married again (possibly in 1929?) to Julia (last name unknown) who had a young daughter, age 2 years. In 1930,they lived at 3462 Redvale Ave (address not found presently).
It is unknown if they were divorced or if Julia died before Edward as his obituary does not mention her nor any step-children nor biological children.
Edward's first wife was Ruth Hoffman Klumb from Middleport, OHio. She was born May 10, 1892 in Middleport, Oh and married Edward on Sept 22, 1912 in Middleport. She was 8 years his junior. She died in Chicago on 4/8/1918 and is buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Hillside, IL.He then married Sophia Kvist about 4 months later on August 14, 1918..
In 1942,Edward last lived at 1948 Cleveland Ave,Chicago (in the Lincoln Park neighborhood). The building was built in 1891 and still stands today. His Chicago office at that time was located at 345 W Division St.
Later, Edward returned to Mequon/Thiensville, WI where he died on 7/30/1951 at age 68.
