He then taught in Little Chute, WI where son Stanley was born on 9/28/1907. Daughter, Sylvia, was born in 1910 but exact date is unknown. It is known that in 1940 she was single and working as a secretary on W Burleigh in Milwaukee. Phillip moved from Little Chute to Milwaukee where he continued to teach and where he died at the age of 39 at the Milwaukee Co Hospital of lobar pneumonia with contributory myelogenous leukemia per death record. Member of St Ann's Church, 2474 N 37th St., in Milwaukee. The building is now the site of Mercy Memorial Baptist Church.
