His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morrill with Reverend Kenneth Humphrey officiating. Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery near Morrill.
Memorials may be given to the Leukemia Society or the Breast Cancer Society. Jones Mortuary in Mitchell is in charge of arrangements.
Victor was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Gering to John and Mary (Hamburg) Bauer. He grew up on the family farm near Scottsbluff, Lyman area and attended Victory Hill School until the eighth grade. He married Dorothy D. Cooley on Nov. 1, 1942 at Torrington, Wyo.
Victor was a farmer/rancher in the Sidney area, Sunflower, Dutch Flats and Morrill until his retirement. He also worked over 30 campaigns for Western Sugar as a knife setter at the Mitchell, Bayard, and Scottsbluff factories. He also had his own disc sharpening business. He collected toy tractors and loved to make welded yard ornaments from various farm implements and tools. He was a past member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and Trinity Lutheran Church of Morrill.
Survivors include his daughters, Janice (Ron) Stuckert of Lingle, Wyo., Judi (Fred) Ruff of Fort Morgan, Colo.; son, Steven (Nona) Bauer of Torrington, Wyo.; sisters, Florine (Hank) Elias and Gladys Adams both of Sidney; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.
Preceding Victor in death was his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Sharon Lee; son, Tommy Ray; parents, John and Mary Bauer; sisters, Edna Betzold, Dorothy Smith; and brothers, Roy Bauer, John Bauer.
