Jack Anthony Auman, age 69, of Asheboro died Monday, September 5, 2011 at his home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Harold Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in the Flag Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Mr. Auman was born in Randolph County on July 30, 1942 to Arcus and Eula Edith Moore Auman, who preceded him in death. Jack served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was retired from Energizer Battery after 43 years of service. Jack was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and had a love for World War II history.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gloria Miller Auman; daughters, Karen Parrish of Randleman, NC, Ilene Hieronymus and her husband Cordy of Hampstead, NC, Bonnie Lovell of Randleman, NC, Janet Allred and her husband Carlton of Asheboro, NC, Donna Myers of Greensboro, NC; and Beverly McQueen and her husband Chris of Asheboro, NC; 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Davis of Asheboro, NC; brothers, Jimmy Auman and his wife Mae of Asheboro, NC, and Gary Auman and his wife Yvonne of Jena, LA; and loving pet, Della.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
