He was born on March 24, 1944 in Michigan City, IN to Edward Leo Peters Sr. and Laverne Elvira (Osos) Peters, His father survives in Trail Creek.
He was married March 17, 1978 in Las Vegas to Gloria J. Wheet who died November 24, 2003. Surviving are daughters Angelique Peters of LaPorte, Kathleen Layba of Largo, FL, Sherry (Dan) Uzelac of Portage, IN and Ann (Marty) Venit of Valparaiso, IN; grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Matthew, Jimmy, Lillie, Dakota, Sophia and Aiden, sisters Suzanne Marie Parizek of LaPorte, IN and Deborah Ann Peters of Valparaiso, IN.
Ed was the retired owner of Hide-away Lounge in East Chicago, IN. He was a member of the Men's Auxiliary of VFW Post 2536
The family suggests memorials to American Diabetes Association.
A funeral service will be Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M.at Carlisle Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday 4-8 P.M. and on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the service. Interment of ashes will be private in Fairview Cemetery, South Bend, IN
