OCTOGENARIAN DIES HERE FOLLOWING LONG ILLNESS
Mrs. Karl Keller died Wednesday morning in her home in Moville after a long illness. She was aged 83 years, 2 months, 1 day.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev S.M. Zike, assisted by Rev J. Pickersgill, in the Federated church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Bertha Ratunda was born in Germany October 9, 1847. At the age of 18 she and Karl Keller were united in marriage. In 1871 they came to the United States and lived for a short time in Chicago. They moved to Indiana and then in 1881 to North Dakota. In 1898 they came to Woodbury county, Iowa. Mr. Keller died several years ago.
Of seven children, six survive. They are: Karl (Charles F W) of Puyallup, Wash; Mrs. Howard Brainerd, of Uplands (sp), Calif; Mrs. Otto Maxey, of Bronson; Frank, of Correctionville; John, of Omaha; Emma, of Moville. There are also twenty-two grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
