Lavere married John Thomas Wake, the son of George & Rachel Mounsey Wake, on April 22, 1922 in Muncie. The couple were the parents of Wanda Rachel, Juanita Clare, Virginia, John Matthew, George Aaron ("Billy"), Joan Mabel, Alice Jean, Earl Ronald, Merle Donald and Chester Delmer Wake. Mrs. Wake was blessed with a sweet disposition and was a loving wife and mother.

Mrs. Lavere Jane Wake, 49, wife of John T. Wake, died at 7:35 o'clock Thursday evening at the family home, 1818 Kirk street, following a brief illness. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Besides the husband she is survived by six sons, Clarence H. Ditton, of Muncie, and John, Jr., Billy, Earl, Merle and Chester, all at home; five daughters, Mrs. Wanda Clark, of Muncie, Mrs. Juanita Brenner, Virginia Wake, a WAVE stationed at Cleveland, Joanna and Alice Wake both at home; five grandchildren, and three brothers, Howard, Donald and Ralph Bell, all of Muncie. The body was removed to the Meeks mortuary.

The funeral of Lavere Jane Wake, 49, wife of John T. Wake, who died Thursday evening at the family home, 1818 Kirk St., following a brief illness, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Meeks mortuary. The Rev. H. Jess Baker was in charge, and burial was in Beech Grove Cemetery.
