Mary Gertrude Rumping came to Montana from St. Louis, Missouri, with her mother, Eva F. (Specht) Rumping when she was about 1 year old. She married George W. Schenck in 1899, with whom she had 5 children. George died in 1915 and she married Albert Schaffer in 1916. Albert died in 1934 and she married Eugene Riordan in about February 1945. They were married only 5 months before he died in July 1945.
