Mrs. Fant was born on June 12, 1941, in Ballinger, Texas, to Erna and Cecil Lander. She was known well and loved by many at the Miles Independent School District, where she spent many years assisting educators.
Anita married Creed Fant in 1960. They had three children who share similar stories of a mother who rocked them, cuddled them and read to them on a nightly basis.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Erna Manske Lander; and father Cecil Lander. Anita was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Miles and dedicated her life to loving the Lord. She will be remembered by many as fostering their minds, as well as touching their hearts.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Creed B. Fant; son Mark Fant and wife Maxine of Miles; Jeff Fant and wife Lisha of San Angelo; and daughter Kristi Scott and husband Max of Heath; her seven grandchildren, Andrew, Janelle, Vicki, Justin, Bryce, Logan and Hudson. Many thanks to VistaCare Hospice of San Angelo. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Miles United Methodist Church.
