Miller were held on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Wewoka Indian Baptist Church, with Reverend Houston Tiger officiating.
He was born to Amos and Edna (Johnson) Miller
on September 21, 1949 in Wewoka.
At the age of 58, he went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2008 at Claremore Indian Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles, and sister Theresa.
Yogi got his education at Wewoka, Sequoyah and
Chilocco Indian School. He was a welder by trade and worked for a company out of Oklahoma City where they sent him to different places to work until he became disabled.
While in the hospital, Reverend Alex Lowe came to see him at times and witnessed to him about Christ. Yogi accepted Christ as his savior on June 13, 2008. He told his sister, brothers and aunt three times that he was going home.
He is survived by four brothers, Johnny of Tulsa,
Lewis of Oklahoma City, Solomon of Choctaw and
Mike Miller of Shawnee; two sisters, Sally Herrod and Suzanne Lackey of Wewoka; nine nephews, Tony, Matthew,Charlie, Steven, Mitchell,
Anthony, Kyle, Dakota Miller and Brian Harjo; five nieces, Theresa Wisenhunt, Nikeeya Herrod, Stephanie Mullenix, Jennifer Lohman and Leona Miller; three aunts, Agnes Carr, Julia Johnson and Leona Moppin; one greataunt, Grace Daily; and a host of relatives and friends.
