Lucille Matter of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully January 22, 2013 at Horizon Hospice Center in Mequon. She was 81 years old.

Lucille was born on April 24, 1931 in Grafton, daughter of George and Louisa Krohn Anschuetz. She married Roman Matter June 3, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Lucille worked in the laundry for the Cedarburg School District. She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg and is a former choir director for the church choir. Lucille was also a member of the Homemakers Club, and enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, and dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children; Mark (Amy) Matter of Cedarburg, Gary (Jeri) Matter of Chilton, and Cindy Matter of Cedarburg. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Nick (Kendra) Matter of Grafton, Nathan (special friend Heather Rucks) Matter of Cedarburg, Lesley (Matthew) Wunrow of Chilton, Krysta (fiancé Brandon Poehlein) Matter of Chilton, Peter Pautz and Heidi Pautz of Cedarburg, three great-grandchildren; Kali Schmunck, Leigha Wunrow and Colson Matter. Further survivors include her sister Annie (the late Lester) Hardt of Jackson, brothers and sister-in-laws Lucille (the late Elroy) Matter of Menomonee Falls, Evelyn (Vernon) Guhl of Cedarburg, Earl Matter of Arizona, Rosie (the late Merl) Matter of Cedarburg, and Jerome (Donna) Matter of Arizona, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Roman, sister Erna (the late Alex) Biemborn, sister-in-law Beatrice (the late Victor) Bublitz and great-grandson Braydon Matter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 11 am at Faith Lutheran Church, N35 W6621 Wilson St., Cedarburg with Rev. John Norquist officiating. She will be laid to rest next to Roman at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25th from 4-7 pm at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg and again on Saturday, January 26th from 10-11 am at Faith Lutheran Church.
