Mrs. D.J. McGinty
Private funeral services were conducted at the Berge-Thenhaus-Howser-Swoboda Home for Funerals for Mrs. Dan McGinty, 29 who died Friday morning at a local hospital. The Rev. W.C. Rehwaldt, pastor of Grace Lutheran church, was in charge, and interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. McGinty, whose maiden name was Viola P. Knapp, was born March 2, 1911 in Madison county. She was baptised in St. John's Lutheran church at Green Garden and was also confirmed there in 1924. In 1928, she was married to Mr. McGinty and they were the parents of two daughters and one son, Mary Lee, Donna and Patrick, all at home. She had been living in Norfolk the past twelve years, and also spent two years at Kearney. After her return here, she had enjoyed good health until the first of the year, and she entered the hospital for treatment, which resulted in excellent improvement of her health. Last Tuesday, she had returned to the hospital, where she died suddenly Friday, the cause of her death being poliomyelitis. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by two brothers, George Knapp of Madison and John Knapp of North Platte; sis sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Boe, Norfolk; Mrs. Martha Boe, Madison; Mrs. Mary Sunderman, Madison; Mrs. Irene Scheer, Norfolk, and Mrs. Bertha Schmitt and Mrs. Ellen Jones, both of Omaha.
