From Find a Grave contributor Brian:
Friends in the city on Wednesday received intelligence of the death of Mrs. Charles Spencer at Los Angeles. The lady was a former resident here, on Paulin Street, until a short time ago. The late Mrs. Spencer was loved by all for her cheerful happy nature, and her loss will be mourned by a large circle of friends. Her nearest relative in the city is Mrs. James (Theresa) Jackson, of Edmonton Street, a sister. Other relatives are Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Johnston, of Princess Street; Mr. Richard Carroll, and Miss Spencer. Mrs. Spencer was born in Ontario, but was educated and lived in Winnipeg most of her life. She had been suffering from an abscess for some time and which eventually was the cause of her death.
