NEWPORT NEWS - Mrs. Grace Lackey Stepp, age 68, a native of Lexington, Va., and a Peninsula resident since 1944, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1995.

She retired from the Hampton Educators Credit Union.

She is survived by her husband, Richard T. Stepp; three sons, Buddy Haughwout of Huntsville, Ala., Clifton Haughwout of Gloucester, and William Haughwout of Hampton; one daughter, Darla Luke of Wichita, Kan.; one brother, William Lackey of Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Betty Sandefer of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home. Graveside service at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Hampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Elizabeth A.S. Wright officiating.

Grace was the 2nd-born child of Frances Thelma Rodrick & Robert McKee Lackey, Sr. She spent her adult life in Newport News, Virginia. She married 3 times, was widowed twice: Leigh Haughwout (died 1974), John Segar (died 1997) & Dick Stepp. She and Leigh had four children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She died in Newport News, Virginia at the age of 68. She had been a Peninsula resident since 1944. She retired from the Hampton Educators Credit Union.
