Arsemius Smith was his birth name, He changed his name to R.C. Smith. He was the son of William H. Smith and Mary Ann Reeves.

He married Annie H. "Alice" McKinney.

He was the twin of Logan Smith according to an 1880 Census he and logan were 2 years old and his mother Maryann Reeves-Smith was widowed.

He worked as a Carpenter.

His Great-Granddaughter wrote this:
He was Born in Ashton North Carolina as I am told by other family members, Not much is known of him other then he came from North Carolina and had a twin Brother Named Logan they were born to William H. Smith who is of Native American Nationality . Not much is Known about his mother at this time. Arcemius Changed his name to and moved from North Carolina to Harden Co Kentucky where he met and Married Alice McKinney They latter moved to Texarkana, Miller Co Arkansas, where he lived out the rest of his days. He died at the age of 49 of a gun shot wound he received while trying to collect a debt from bootleggers {as family stories go}. He is laid to rest in Old Rondo Cemetery In Miller Co. Ark. his wife Alice even though she remarried is laid to rest right next to him and they share a headstone. R.C. and Alice's children, Emma, R.C. and Laura are all laid to rest in the same area of this cemetery next to their parents.

Notes: I have found that my great grandfather had a few first names he went by, I found on my grandpa Ben Logan Smith's birth certificate R.C. is crossed out and Druary A. is written in above it. I also found an amended birth certificate for my grandpa Ben where is changes the fathers name to Druary A. Smith and there's no mentions of the Arcemius or R.C. names again. {the name change was amended after great grandpa R.C. had past away and his wife Alice had remarried to Ben Yeager.}
Why that name changes? and here you see his name changed again from Druary to R.C. which is on his headstone, it is quite confusing.
