Joseph P. Eiswerth Sr., 78, formerly of the 200 block of East Fourth St., died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Williamsport Hospital.

Joe was born on March 15, 1932, in Limestone Twp., a son of Henry G. and Barbara E. Brunst Eiswerth.

He was a painter and a drywall finisher for many local contactors.

Joe was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post 1.

His wife of 46 years, the former Joyce E. Trockel died June 28, 2005.

Surviving are his children, Jeffrey L. Eiswerth, Joseph P. Eiswerth Jr. and a step-son David K. Miller, all of Williamsport, three grandchildren, Belinda Eck, Joyce Miller and David Miller, seven great grandchildren, and two brothers Paul, of Trout Run, and Sylvester, of South Williamsport.

In addition to his wife and parents, seven brothers and three sisters preceded Joe in death.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Msgr. Stephen D. McGough, pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church officiating, followed by burial in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Crouse Funeral home, 133 East Third St.
