Paul was born in Collomsville on Jan. 1, 1925, a son of Henry and Barbara Eiswerth.
He was a World War II Army veteran serving in Africa and Italy.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 1, and a member of the Polish Club.
He loved the outdoors, gardening, taking care of his fruit trees, camping with family, spending time at the river lot with family, and he was an avid bird watcher.
He was a dedicated father, and he and mom always made sure that we were all safe and happy.
One of the best gifts he gave us was to find humor in most life situations.
Paul had been employed and retired from Avco Lycoming.
During his retirement years, he spent many years babysitting the grandchildren, and devoted to his wife, Peggy.
Surviving are eight children, Kenneth (Glenda) Eiswerth of Trout Run, Carl (Mary Ellen) of Williamsport, Debbie (Corky) Wasson of Trout Run, Merion Eiswerth of Trout Run, Paul (partner Mark Saab) of Pittsburgh, Michael (Michele) Eiswerth of N.Y., William (companion Deb) of Lancaster, James (Christine) Eiswerth of Sweet Valley; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a nephew, Mark Derr, who was like a son and continues to be part of our family; and a brother, Sylvester Eiswerth of South Williamsport.
His wife of 64 years, the former Peggy Miller, died on Dec. 30, 2012, in addition, eight brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Humble, honest, proud and true, he loved his family, friends. We will join him again some day free and singing like the birds that he loved.
The family will receive family and friends at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Brian Van Fossen officiating followed by burial at St. Michael's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Cogan Station with full military honors.
