There is no record of her place of death and burial, but she is known to have been living in Island Creek Township, Jefferson County, Ohio in 1820, so it is likely she was buried in Island Creek Township, near her and her husband's farm, along with her infant daughter Elizabeth Ann Decker who died at about the same time. Since this Island Creek Cemetery is the closest cemetery to where she lived, it is a reasonable assumption that she is buried here or at a nearby location. There are many damaged and overturned gravestones in this cemetery that cannot be read. There is a record that Hannah McCollum married Isaac Decker (#75949403) on Nov. 28, 1809 in Sussex County, New Jersey, and that her parents were Aaron and Abigail McCollum. She was probably born in Sussex County, New Jersey or nearby New York or Pennsylvania, and came to Island Creek Township, Jefferson County, Ohio with her husband and first two children in about 1815-1816. Her four children were: Aaron Decker (1811-1887, married, buried Kansas, findagrave #67697969); Abigail Decker (1814-1853, died in Licking County, Ohio, no record of marriage, may be the person buried in Licking County, Ohio at #48020109); Stephen Overton Decker (1817-1882, married, buried Illinois, findagrave #9434595); and Elizabeth Ann Decker (1819-1820, probably died in Island Creek Township, Jefferson County, Ohio and buried there with her mother Hannah Decker, findagrave #114694559). Hannah Decker's death at age 30 and her youngest child's death at almost the same time were tragic deaths, leaving her husband with three young children.
Bio by Ronald Decker, Isaac Decker's great-great-grandson by his second wife.
