The Greensboro News, Greensboro, NC, Feb. 26, 1942 (edited):
Entered into Eternal Rest, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1942 -- Samuel G. Woodall, well-known resident of the Axton Community, died at his home near Axton yesterday morning at 7 o'clock after an extended illness. Mr. Woodall was 58 years of age and is survived by his wife, (and) three daughters, Miss Helen Woodall and Miss Ruth Woodall, both of Axton, and Mrs. Belle Harmon, of Draper; three sons, R.A. Woodall, of Draper; Marvin Woodall and Nelson Woodall, both of Axton; and five sisters. Mrs. Rawleigh Hubbard, Mrs. John Cousins, Mrs. Richard Hundley, all of Danville, and Mrs. Joseph Aaron and Mrs. Matthew Aaron, both of Callands. Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at Mountain Valley Christian Church with burial in (the) Hankins Cemeter in Axton, Va., Rev. J.D. Hunt will have charge of the funeral.
