Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at the Dey-Florin Funeral Home, 2506 Niles Ave., in St. Joseph. Funeral services celebrating her life will follow at 11:30 A.M., Wednesday, at the Annunciation and Agia Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church, 1800 Behner Road, in New Buffalo with Fr. Paul Martin officiating. Burial will be at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Ethel was born on September 9, 1930, in Chicago. She was one of twelve children born to Andrew and Christina Maheras. On June 16, 1954 she married Daniel Bedunah and was happily married 57 years. Together they had one son, Andrew. Ethel worked for many years at Avion Coach. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1137 for many years serving as a trustee and on the board. She enjoyed her working in her flower garden, canning, and was "the best cook ever." Most of all, Ethel enjoyed time spent with her family.
Ethel is survived by her husband Daniel; son, Andrew; brother, John Maheras; sisters, Mary Cloyd, Andrea Cora, Georgia Kuchinski, Katherine Walker, Christine Dillon, Helen Maheras, and Sandra Maheras; and by 33 nieces and nephews; and by a host of great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry and Leo Maheras and by her sister Marilyn Maheras.
