MORRISONVILLE-Irene C. Tourville, 71, of the Arthur LeFevre Senior Housing died Saturday, May 24, 1997, at Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt.

She was born in Chateaugay, June 22, 1925, the daughter of Alex and Rosanna (Bova) Soucia. She worked for JCEO and was formerly a member of St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg Depot. While a communicant of St. Edmund's Church, she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Little Rose.

She was a member of the senior citizens of Ellenburg Depot and active at the senior center. She had been a volunteer at Our Lady of the Adirondacks House of Prayer. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, playing cards, bingo and liked making puzzles. She was a member of St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.

Her husband, Raymond "Red" Tourville, died Oct. 27, 1979.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law: Carl and Gale Tourville of Ellenburg Center and Wayne and Denise Tourville of Morrisonville; six daughters and two sons-in-law: Carol Bedard of Plattsburgh, Linda Rabideau of Plattsburgh, Wanda Collins of Tupper Lake, Sandra and Kenneth Charland of Dannemora, Beverly Tourville of Tupper Lake, Susan and Craig Cole of Brasher Falls; two brothers and two sisters-in-law:Joseph and Bertha Soucia of Brainardsville and Theodore and Marie Soucia of Peru; four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Freda Wargaloski of Texas, Lillian and Bernard Revette of Central Square, Laura Willette of Beekmantown and Janet and Donald LaBombard of Brainardsville; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Soucia and three sisters: Amelia Titus, Mary Griffin and Adwidge Tourville.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 from the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 1 p.m. from St. Edmund's Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Edmund's Cemetery.
