Leona A. Fawthrop, 96, of Endicott, passed away Friday, August 7, 2009, at her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald A. Fawthrop; and her daughter, Joan Kinns. She is survived by her children: three sons and daughters-in-law, The Rev. Arthur and Ellen Fawthrop, Donald and Sandra Fawthrop, Craig and Mary Fawthrop; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Sharon and Rev. Barry Traver, Leona and Stephen Tonchen; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving are three sisters, Myra Petronis, Edith Yankowski, Doris Alderich. Also many nieces and nephews. Leona was devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed.
A funeral service for Leona will be held Sunday August 9, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 E. Main St., Endicott. Her son, The Rev. Arthur Fawthrop, will officiate. Burial will be in the Clifton Park Village Cemetery, Clifton Park, NY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions in Leona's memory to The Christian Heritage Church in care of William Hamilton, 503 Overlook Terrace, Endicott, NY 13760.
