Clara Buchan Creighton, 84, of Mullins, widow of Walter R. "Ladd" Creighton, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008.

Mrs. Creighton was the daughter of the late A.H. and Clara Smith Buchan. She was born Aug. 17, 1923 in Mullins and graduated from Mullins High School and from Converse College in Spartanburg. Mrs. Creighton was a member of Mullins Presbyterian Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, a member of the Blue Savannah Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Tussie Mussie Garden Club.

Mrs. Creighton is survived by a daughter, Dr. Clara S. Creighton of Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Walter R. Creighton Jr. of Surfside Beach and A. Buchan Creighton of Hilton Head Island; five grandchildren, Jay Creighton, David Creighton, Tara DeJesus, Walter R. Creighton III and Kelly Marie Creighton; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Creighton was predeceased by five brothers, Edward, Archie, Smith, James and Alson.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on Feb. 11 in Mullins Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. George Ganey and the Rev. Jason Brewer officiating. Burial followed in Cedardale Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Organ Research Education and Related Patient Care Fund, University of Nebraska Foundation, 8712 W. Dodge Rd., Suite 402, Omaha, Nebraska 68114-3434 or to the charity of one's choice.
