US Congressman. Served in the United States Army during the War of 1812. Elected to represent New York's 25th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1825 to 1827. Also served as as Member of the New York State Assembly from 1834 to 1836, and Speaker of the New York State Assembly from 1835 to 1836.
