DEATH OF PAUL YOUNG

Paul Young, one of Humeston's most respected citizens, died Sunday evening, May 13, at 9 o'clock, after an illness, in which he suffered intensely and was bedfast for twelve days. Death resulted from neuralgia of the heart.

The funeral services were held Wednesday, May 16, at the Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Richard Rowe, with burial in the Humeston cemetery.

Paul Young was born October 9, 1849, at Portersville, Pa., and was 78 years, 7 months and 4 days of age at the time of his death.

He was the second child of William and Sarah Young and lived with his parents on a farm near Portersville until June, 1860, when, with his parents, three brothers and one sister, he came to Chariton, where they lived for four months, then moved to a farm 8 miles southwest of Chariton.

He became a member of the Methodist church at the age of 16 and was a faithful and devoted member until his death.

He married Isabelle J. Dey, April 4, 1871, and lived on a farm near Seymour two years, then moved to a farm near Humeston, where they lived until 1897, when they moved to Humeston. One son, Charles W., was born, who is living in Des Moines. Mrs. Young died March 10, 1912.

On October 8, 1913, he married Miss Roselda Dey, of Staplehurst, Nebr., who with Charles W., two brothers and two sisters are living. His parents and three brothers have preceded him in death.

Mrs. N. McCullough, of Mt. Vernon, Wash., W. E. Young, of Little River, Kans., C. L. Young and Mrs. George Winslow, of Derby are his brothers and sisters still living.

Mr. Young has been in business for thirty-one years as owner and manager of the photograph gallery, located near his home on Depot street. This community has lost a good citizen, the church a faithful member and his home a kind husband and father.
