He was born February 6, 1921, in the Stony Fork community, a son of Lee and Chana Greene Goulds. He was retired from Broyhill Furniture Company in Lenoir and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Eggers Goulds, one sister, three brothers, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Verlee Watson Goulds and five brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverends Mike Barefoot and Sherrill Wellborn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Hampton Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
