Funeral services for Mrs. J. T. Chambers, 85, of Keltys were held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Arthur DeLoach and Rev. Richard Hooper officiated and burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Chambers died Friday morning at her residence after a brief illness. She was born May 8, 1881 in Angelina County and had resided here all of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Iva Scott of Keltys and Mrs. Perry Kerr of Georgetown; one son, Collis Chambers of Baytown; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Bickford of Conroe, Mrs. Molly Mathews of Henderson and Mrs. Maude Garrison of Houston; granddaughter, Mrs. C. R. Marsh of Dickinson; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Dick Marsh, Elie Smith, Sr., Craft Fenley, Jim Fenley, Dan Fenley and Pete Fenley.
