Funeral services for Thomas Milledge Fenley, 71, were held in Gipson Chapel with the Rev. Billy Thomas officiating. Burial was in Gann Cemetery. Mr. Finley died Feb. 1, 1956 in Lufkin. He was born March 28, 1884 in Lufkin to John Rush and Octavia Million Fenley.
Thomas was the father of eight children. He had five sons and one daughter born with his first wife, Vevey Jordan Finley. She presided him in death 1919. He had one daughter born with his second wife, Jessie Warren Deggs before they divorced. He had one son born with his widow, Loshia Goodwin Alexander Finley.
Survivors: his wife, Mrs Loshia Fenley; five sons, Craft (Willie) Fenley, Pete Fenley, Jim (Pauline) Fenley, and Haskell Fenley of Lufkin, and Dan (Thelma) Fenley of Diboll; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred "Sis" (A.O. "Bud") Alexander of Port Neches, and Mrs Ava Nell (Jimmy) Modisette of Crosby; step children , A.O. "Bud" (Mildred "Sis") Alexander of Port Neches, Carl (Edith) Alexander of Center, Mrs. Alta Jo (Richard) Lewing of Lufkin, and Agnes (Johnny) Sims of Nacogdoches; one brother, Deed Fenley of Shepherd; four sisters, Mrs Turah Chambers and Mrs. Molly Matthews of Henderson, and Mrs Coke Garrison of Houston.
