June Ardell Stamm was born June 30, 1919, to Arthur and Lela (Dehart) Little in Dundy County, Nebraska, the oldest of six children. June passed away on the morning of Jan. 25, 2012, at the Dundy County Hospital after living her entire life in the county.

June attended county school at District 23 and graduated from Benkelman High School in 1937.

On Jan.7, 1938, she was united in marriage to Harry W Stamm at her parents' home. To this union four boys were born. They made their home on the farm in the Hoover precinct, northwest of Benkelman, until they moved to Benkelman in the fall of 1976.

June was an active member of an extension club for many years. She was active in the Methodist Church and UMW. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting. She made numerous afghans, including making ones for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. June was an avid gardener, she enjoyed her flower beds and yard work. She always had a large garden, and spend many hours canning the vegetables she grew.

June loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and watching them in school, church and local activities, including 4-H.

June enjoyed researching the family histories of the Dehart, Little and Stamm families. June was always willing to help anyone that wanted to know more about the family history and would spend countless hours going over old family photos and memorabilia with the younger generations.

June was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Harry of 52 years, who passed in 1990; infant son, Larry Stamm and son, Gary Stamm; granddaughter, Tylene; and an infant granddaughter; sisters, Maxine Waters and Geraldine Lehman.

June is survived by: sons, Marlin of Longmont, Colorado and Russell and wife, Angie of Benkelman; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Stamm of Benkelman, seven grandchildren; one step-grandson, nine great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ernestine Smith of Benkelman and Joyce and husband, Norman Vincent of Gainsville, Texas; brother, Ned and wife, Colleen Little of Ft. Lupton, Colorado and a host of relatives and friends.

Interment was in the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, NE.
