Nathan Colburn (1752 - 1831) DAR Ancestor Ancestor #: A023999. He was born and died in Hollis, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. Nathan married Abigail Shattuck. In 1776, he was in Capt. Daniel Carlisle's Company, Colonel Timothy Bedel's Regiment, which joined the Northern Continental Army. He was a prisoner at "The Cedars" Quebec, Canada on 20 May 1776. He served in the company of minute men who marched from Hollis on the Lexington Alarm under Capt. Reuben Dow.

Nathan's Mother was Elizabeth (nee Smith) Colburn.

Aged 78

Nathan settled at Deacon Lane after his marriage to Abigail. He had previously lived at a site on Rocky Pond Road. He owned a mill and also surveyed the town of Hollis in 1806. His grandson Enoch remembers sitting up with his grandfather after his death and before the funeral.
