Michael Ray Moyer, 21, of Valliant died August 25 near Valliant as the result of an automobile accident.
Born January 17, 1961 in Wichita Falls, Texas, he had lived his entire life in McCurtain County and was an employee of Mathiews Tire Co., Valliant.
He was a 1979 graduate of Valliant High School where he was a member of the football team, receiving various awards. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Janette and Benny Mathiews; his father, George Moyer of Alabama; his grandparents, Mrs. Josephine Songer and Mr. and Mrs. John Mathiews, all of Valliant; one sister, Martha Alvardo of Corpus Christi, Texas; three brothers, Larry Moyer of Valliant, Eddie Moyer and David Mathiews, both of the home; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Calvin Nevels officiating.
Arrangements and burial in the Valliant Cemetery were under the direction of Leonard Funeral Home of Idabel.
