Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lindstrom, Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Louisa Boreen Nelson who passed away at 9 am, Wednesday, Dec 2 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carlson residing north of Lindstrom.

Burial was made at the Fairview Cemetery. Rev. M. A. Haker officiated at the rites and pallbearers were: Oscar Helberg, F. R Victor, Elof Lovestrand, Carl W. Gustafson, Charles Reed, and Gust Johnson.

Mrs. Nelson had suffered for several months with a lingering illness during which time she received the affectionate care of Mr. and Mrs. Carlson, her son in law and daughter.

The deceased leaves the following sons and daughters: Oscar Boreen of Spokane, WA, Edwin Boreen of Pine City, MN, Alvin Boreen of Church Bridge, Sask, Canada, Mabel, Mrs. Earl Hay of Vermont, IL, Albert Boreen of Lennen Alberta, Canada, Hugo Boreen of Alexandria, MN, Anna Florence Boreen of Los Angeles, CA, Chester Boreen and Mrs. Charles O. Carlson of Lindstrom. Two children preceded her in death. She also leaves two sisters and one brother, namely, Mrs. Charles Melquist and Mrs. Josephine Hedseth of Minneapolis and Rasmus Pederson of Oak Park, MN besides 38 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Nelson came to Lindstrom in 1910 being married to Andrew Boreen of Winthrop in 1880. They had lived on a farm in Winthrop before coming here. On March 14, 1921 her husband died. She resided at the place here until 4 months ago when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Carlson.
