Born in New Britain, January 26, 1925, daughter of the late Carl and Agnes (Fosberg) Johnson, she had been an Avon resident since 1946. A graduate of New Britain High School, Doris was employed as an Executive Secretary for ISI and New England Clock in Farmington for 22 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Avon Congregational Church and had been an active member at First Lutheran Church in New Britain during her youth. She was also a member of the Avon and Barkhamsted Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her most special friend George Pelletier; two daughters, Lynn Emery of Avon, and Gail Rogers and her husband John of Weatogue; a son, Stanley J. Fuller and his wife Deborah of Burlington; her grandchildren, Jerry, George, Brian, and Joe Emery, Carrie Bacewicz, RaeAnn DeHay, Vicki and Keri-Jo Rogers, Michael, Christopher and Karen Fuller; 19 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Stanley, she was predeceased by her brother, Algot Johnson and her step-mother Ida Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 4, at 11 a.m. at Avon Congregational Church, 6 West Main Street. Burial will be in the church's memorial garden at the convenience of the family.
