Born and raised in Blanco and Williamson County, she married Alfred Joseph 'Alf' Smith in 1900, at age 15. She and Alf lived in the rural Eastern area of Lometa until their older years, when they moved into town in Lometa. They separated at that time (between 1930 and 1940). While in the country off the road to San Saba on the old Smith property, they farmed and raised turkeys. Their children were born there.
