Minnie immigrated from Germany to America with her parents when she was five years old, along with her brothers and sisters, John, Carl, Henry, George, Emma, Mattie, and Frederick. The children ranged from 18 year old John, to nearly one year old Frederick. They boarded a ship at Hamburg, Germany, in October of 1880, crossing the English Channel to London, England after two days on the North Sea. They traveled by train across England to board a ship, the "Wisconsin", crossing the Atlantic to New York City in eleven days. Traveling by train from New York, they arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah, where they remained for six days.
In covered wagons, they first moved to Manti, Utah, arriving November 16, 1880. Her brother, one year old Frederick, died the night of the family's arrival in Manti. Her father, a skilled stonecutter, helped cut stones for construction of the Manti LDS Temple. After three years, they moved to Dover, Utah (now a ghost town site west of present-day Fayette, across the Sevier River in Sanpete County). The family finally settled in Fremont, Wayne County, Utah, in April 1887 when Minnie was eleven years old.
Minnie married Hyrum Morrell, a son of William Wilson and Dorthea Jacobsen (Julia) Morrell, March 27, 1894 in Fremont, Utah, solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, June 7, 1922. They are the parents of 11 children.
Minnie died at her home south east of Fremont, Utah, on Christmas Eve, 1942, following a lengthy illness. She was 67.
Surviving was her husband, Hyrum; six daughters, Dortha Taylor, Dolly Jenson, Ella Jenson, Elsie Taylor, Arlena Morrell, and Julia Fillmore; and brothers and sister, George Albrecht, Emma Morrell, and Jacob Albrecht.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, F. Melenda Morrell; her four sons, H. Lenard Morrell, Milton Morrell, Milford Morrell, and Vance Morrell; and brothers and sisters, John Albrecht, Carl Albrecht, Henry Albrecht, Anna Albrecht, Mattie Tanner, and Frederick Albrecht.
