95-year-old Rinard resident, Ruth Vivian (Bullard) Howe died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, August 18 at the Cisne Rehab & Healthcare Center. She was a retired elementary school teacher and taught in Wayne and Clay counties for 28 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Illinois Retired Teachers Association, North Wayne Senior Citizens, Loyal Men and Women's Class of Cisne Christian Church, and previously a member of the Eastern Star Lodge at Johnsonville.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda J. Welty of Xenia and Kathy L. Michels of Cisne; two sons, Curtis E. Howe and John A. Howe both of Rinard; two sisters, Shirley Dowdy of East Chicago, IL and June Greenwood of Effingham, IL; two brothers, Ardell Bullard of Lakewood, CO and Darrel Bullard of Effingham, IL; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ruth Vivian (Bullard) Howe will be at 3 p.m. Monday, August 22 at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne. Burial will be in Willow Branch Cemetery at Rinard.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, August 21 at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
Memorials may be made to the Cisne Rehab Activity Fund, Clay County Hospice or the donor's choice, and will be accepted at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
