This photo was taken by Judith Nan Lewis, Great Granddaughter of Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober (March 24, 1883 Haralson Co., GA - Apr. 10, 1954 Gadsden, Etowah Co., AL). The Birth date on his grave marker was inscribed wrong and it should have been 1883 instead of 1882. Please refer to his certified Birth Certificate on his memorial. He was born March 24, 1883 in Haralson County, Georgia. Our family has the original certified copy of his birth certificate.

Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober died April 10, 1954 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama. My, (Judith Nan Lewis), Father, Alston Roscoe Lewis, Jr. "Sonny", was at the bedside of his Grandfather, Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober, when he passed away at the hospital and I, Judith Nan Lewis, was outside the hospital in the car with my Mother.

This is a photo of my Great-Grandfather, Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober, he was born March 24, 1883 in Buchanan, Haralson Co., GA and he died on April 10, 1954 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Gadsden, Etowah Co., AL.

Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober is the son of James "Jim" Russell Gober (March 02, 1845 Haralson Co., GA - Jan. 18, 1933 Holly Pond, Cullman Co., AL) and Mary Nora Elizabeth (Gazaway) Gober (June 1854 Haralson Co., GA - June 08, 1929 Holly Pond, Cullman Co., GA.

Joseph "Jack" Andrew Gober married 1st to Marietta Stanfield on Nov. 12, 1902 in Blount Co., AL.

Marietta (Stanfield) Gober was born Oct. 12, 1883 in AL and died on Dec. 22, 1948 in Attalla, Etowah Co., AL, at the home of their daughter, Nora Elizabeth "Teenie" (Gober) Brown and her husband, Conley Oreat "Jack" Brown, Sr. (21 Jan 1900 AL - 17 Dec 1973 AL).

Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober and Marietta (Stanfield) Gober had eight children together by their marriage:

(1)Willie Lee Gober (Dec. 09, 1904 AL-
March 1975 AL), she married 1st to John Henry Yeilding; she married 2nd to Andrew Jackson Davis, she married 3rd to Frank Troncale.

(2)Nora Elizabeth "Teenie" Gober (Oct. 05, 1905 AL - Dec. 21, 1973 AL), she married Conley Orear "Jack" Brown, Sr.

(3)Atha Johnny "Tuggie" Gober (Sept. 30, 1907 AL - March 14, 1987 AL), she married Alston Roscoe Lewis, Sr.

(4)Hattie Gober (1910 AL -1912 AL)

(5)Jewel L. Gober (Nov. 22, 1912 AL - June 21, 1942 AL), she married Lewis Madison Cook.

(6)Kathleen U. Gober (July 24, 1913 AL-
Sept. 09, 2001 AL), she married 1st to Cecil Suttles (after he died), she married 2nd to Thomas "Tommie" Graham Glenn.

(7)J. William Gober (May 22, 1916 AL - 1928 AL), he died of pneumonia.

(8)Grover Gober (1921 AL - 1921 AL)

Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober and Marietta (Stanfield) Gober divorced between 1930 and Early 1933. Marietta (Stanfield) Gober married 2nd to Rufus Bartow Clay (1882 GA- 12 Apr 1952 AL), they were married on October 18, 1933 in Alabama City, Etowah Co., AL, and they did not have any children together by their marriage.

Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober married 2nd to Mrs. Odell (Brown) Denard on January 08, 1944 in Oneonta, Blount Co., AL, and they did not have any children together by their marriage. Odell (Brown) Denard Gober had children by her previous husband, William Denard. Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober and Odell (Brown) Denard Gober divorced a few years later.

Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober moved into a Garage Apartment at 602 1/2, North 4th Street, Attalla, Etowah Co., AL, which was located behind the home of his daughter, Atha Johnny "Tuggie" (Gober) Lewis (30 Sep 1907 AL - 14 March 1987 AL). She was renting this home at 602 North 4th Street, Attalla, Etowah County, AL. Her home was located across the street from the First Methodist Church of Attalla, and was the 2nd house from the corner on that side.

This photo was taken at Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober's Garage Apt, sometime before 1954.

Marietta Stanfield Gober (Oct. 12, 1883 AL - Dec. 22, 1948 AL)is the daughter of William Willis Moses Stanfield, Jr. (Aug. 30, 1863 Indiana -Jan. 15, 1920 AL) and Jarucia Paralee Ashley Stanfield (Jan. 13, 1863 AL - Feb. 13, 1933 AL).

Miss Marietta Stanfield married Joseph Andrew "Jack" Gober on Nov. 12, 1902 in Blount County, AL. He is the son of James Russell Gober (March 02, 1845 Haralson Co., GA - Jan. 18, 1933 Holly Pond, Cullman Co., AL) and Mary Nora Elizabeth Gazaway Gober (June 1854 Haralson Co., GA -June 08, 1929 Holly Pond, Cullman Co., AL).
