George F. Hoop
George F. Hoop, a Union township farmer, died at his home Saturday, February 5, age 51 (should say 61) years. Besides his wife, he leaves several brothers and sisters to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held from the home, yesterday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Joseph H. Green with interment in Riverside cemetery. Deceased was a member of the I. O. O. F. and a number of the order attended the services, in a body.

Death of George Hoop.
George Hoop passed away February 5, after several weeks illness, at the age of 61 years. He was a native of the state of Pennsylvania, but had for twenty five years lived in Union Township where he married Miss Susie Whitehead, who is left alone by his death. A sister and two brothers reside in the Keystone state. Orlo Hoop from Warren, Pa., has been at his brother's bedside during the last two weeks. Mr. Hoop was been active politically in his community, last fall having run on the county ticket for drain commissioner on the Democratic ticket. He was well liked in the neighborhood and his death will be felt outside the bereft home. The funeral was held at the home Wednesday afternoon. Mount Pleasant Odd Fellows in charge with sermon by Rev. Joseph H. Green. The house was filled with neighbors and friends whose kindly feeling for the dead and sympathy for his family were expressed by quantities of choice blossoms which covered the casket. Interment took place in Riverside.
