: CARTERVILLE -- Venas Fansler, 93, of Carterville, formerly of Carbondale died at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006, in Whispering Hopes in Marion.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Oak Valley Cemetery in Geff with the Rev. Douglas Rorex officiating.
Venas was born on Dec. 13, 1912, in Carbondale to Robert L. "Bob" and Daisy (Harper) Kelly.
She married Fred Avery Fansler on Aug. 17, 1946, in Carbondale, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1977.
She is survived by her sister, Laura Dezouche of Herrin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers Hubert and Hardy Kelly; and one sister Helen Reed.
Venas was a homemaker and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Carbondale.
