Adeline Bunkers, 82, of Remsen, died Saturday,
July 31, 2004, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center
in Remsen.

The former Adeline Ritz was born Jan. 7, 1922, at
Remsen, the daughter of Hubert and Anna (Niehus) Ritz. Adeline was raised in Remsen and received
her education at St. Mary's Catholic School in Remsen. She then attended beauty school in Sioux City from which she graduated in 1941.

On Feb. 4, 1942, she married Cletus Bunkers at
Remsen. In their earlier married years they lived in California, moving to Marcus, and then to the
Remsen area. She worked for many years as a beautician with Bernice Treinen and in later years loved working at Ruth's Cafe in Remsen. Pie baking, especially wonderful pie crusts, was her speciality.

She had been a resident of the Happy Siesta since
June 3, 2002. Her husband, Cletus, died Dec. 22, 2002.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and
church Guild, Ladies National Catholic Society of
Foresters for over 60 years and V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Cheryl and Ron Paulsen of Granville and
Meredith and Dave Scott of Meriden; three sons, Randy and his wife, Phyllis, Todd and his friend, Kay, all of Jefferson, and Brian and his wife, Shawn Bergert of San Bernadino, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Tamara and her husband, Mark Lessman, Connie and her husband, Dan Pomrenke, Scott and his wife, Stacey Paulsen, Ellen Bunkers, Evan Bunkers,Cheri and her husband,
Glenn Waterhouse and April Wiederholt; eight
great-grandchildren, Marci Anne, Nina, Jacob, Isaac, Deven, Drew, Quinn and Casi; one stepsister, Sister Mary Margaret Bunkers, O.S.F., of Dubuque; brothers-in-law and sisters-inlaw,
Mary Ann Ritz of Le Mars, LeRoy and Ruth Bunkers, Armella Loesche, Ginger Bunkers and Esther Bunkers, all of Remsen, and Dale and Mary Bunkers of Granville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Theodore Bunkers; one brother, Robert Ritz; two stepbrothers, Edwin Bunkers and Roman
Bunkers; and three stepsisters, Victoria Roeder,
Hedwig Reising and Margaret George.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Remsen. Friends may call
anytime after 2 p.m. be a rosary at 3 p.m. by St.
Mary's Guild and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m.,all at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

Casket bearers will be Ellen Bunkers, Larry
Kobberman, Donald Marx, Ron and Scott Paulsen, Dave Scott.
