She first married Edwin Bailey circa 1900 and 4 children were born of this union: Alta b. 1902, Lucile b. 1905, Thelma b. 1907 and Elmer C. b. 1910. This marriage ended in divorce about 1917. (Lucy's brother Edward married Edwin's sister Effie.)

Lucy married a widower Howard E. Nichols on Jun 9, 1920. Howard died tragically in a farming accident in 1924. At the time of his death he had one daughter, Doris, from his first marriage, and a 3 week old son, Robert William.

1930 and 1940 Census records show Lucy married to Tom J. Blake who must have been a widower as the records show a daughter named Dorthay. This grave marker suggests they stayed and grew old together.
