Bobby Tipton, Sr., 52, of 120 Reeser Road, Johnson City, died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late Bernie Tipton and Bernice Jones Tipton. Robert was a self-employed electrician. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Tipton.



Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Chelsea Tipton, Jr.; three daughters, Cindy East and her boyfriend, Bobby White, Candy Miller and her husband Chris and Mandy Bowman and her husband, David; his mother, Bernice Tipton; nine sisters, Linda Morris, Diane Turbyfield, Jeanette Myers, Maxice Lewis, Sherry Self, Janice Whitlock, Lawanda Harrison, Judy Manas and Cindy Snyder; three brothers, Larry Tipton, Calvin Tipton and Michael Tipton; ten grandchildren, Summer and Christopher Miller, Jr., Angel and Steven Woodby, James, Isaiah and Madison East, Caleb Bowman, Kayleigh and Alexis Tipton; several nieces and nephews.



A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 in the Washington County Memory Gardens at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Rev. Steve Guinn. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. then leave in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Calvin Tipton, Michael Tipton, Johnny Browning, Bobby Self, Chris Miller, Bobby White and Daniel.
