Mark Phillips Family Cemetery (aka Phillips-Smith Cemetery) - - Location on a knoll of the Mark and Nancy Sheffield Phillips property not far from their homeplace on the old road from what is now known as Calhoun and Etowah Counties.
Amanda is most likely one of he graves marked with mountain rock. She was a daughter of Mark and Nancy Sheffield Phillips. Amanda died at the age of 21 and unmarried.
This would have been the only local cemetery at that time and since her parents and siblings and other family were buried there - it doesn't seem likely that the family would have used any other spot.
