FUNERAL WEDNESDAY FOR JOHN FRANKLIN COOK, 83
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Liberty church for John Franklin Cook, 83, by Dr. R. E. Carroll, pastor of the Kennett Presbyterian church. Mrs. Adolph Goldsmith and Leslie Williams, accompanied by Mrs. Bernie Tatum, sang. Interment was in the Liberty cemetery, with the Baldwin Undertakers in charge,
John Franklin Cook was born in Bollinger County, December 2, 1853, the son of Nathaniel and Katie Bellinger Cook. At the age of 20 he was married to Miss Jane Statler, coming to Dunklin County shortly after bis marriage, making his home near Cotton Plant. He died at the home of his son A D. Cook, at Cotton Plant, where he made his home.
Four children were born to this union, one of whom died in infancy. Following the death of his first wife he was married to Mrs. Nancy Jones and after her death he married Mrs. Fannie Brotherton who survives,
Mr. and Mrs. Cook broke housekeeping about ten years a due to bad health, and Mrs. Cook lived with her people in Little Rock and Mr. Cook at Cotton plant
In addition to his widow, M Cook is survived by one daughter Mrs. Sophia Barr of Leachville Ark.; two sons, H. C. Cook of Kennett and A. D. Cook of near Honersville: one brother, Allen Cook of Kennett, eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
