Guy A. Kocher, Sr. Guy Alexander Kocher, Sr., 76, of Box 87, Pine Grove Mills, died at 5:06 p.m. Monday, April 24, 1978, in the Mountainview Unit of Centre Community Hospital, State College. Born Dec. 10. 1901 at "The Glades" in Pennsylvania Furnace, he was the son of Edwin Vaux and Anna Mary (Everhart) Kocher. On Feb. 28,1927, he married Gladys C. Randolph, who died on Aug. 6, 1977. Surviving are nine children: Robert E. Kocher and Joseph Reed Kocher, both of Pine Grove Mills; William R. Kocher, State College; Paul L. Kocher and Guy A. Kocher, Jr., both of Pennsylvania Furnace; Mrs. Gladys Conklin, Lock Haven; Mrs. Faye King and Mrs. Catherine Shuey, both of Bellefonte; and Miss Mary E. Kocher, Pine Grove Mills. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two brothers: Edwin V. Kocher of Spruce Creek and Carol P. Kocher of Benton. Mr. Kocher was of the Presbyterian faith. He was a farmer by occupation, retiring in 1965. He belonged to the Buck Eye Camp in Franklin Twp., Huntingdon County. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, from the Koch Funeral Home, 112 S. Burrowes St., State College. The Rev. C. Frederick Sanford will officiate and interment will be made in Pine Grove Mills Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centre County Unit of Meals on Wheels.
